(Sights & Activities - Uniquely Here)
300 Alamo PlzSan Antonio TX 78299 210-225-1391
Description:
DOWNTOWN. Construction began on this one-time mission in 1724. A quiet, shady landmark, it's smaller than most people imagine. It has become a memorial to the last stand of men like William B. Travis, Davy Crockett, and Jim Bowie in their fight against a much larger Mexican army. If you ask locals, they'll readily tell you just how important this place is to San Antonio, its history, and culture.
River Walk
(Sights & Activities - Uniquely Here)
200 S Alamo StSan Antonio TX 78205 210-227-4262
Description:
RIVER WALK. Also known as Paseo del Rio, this picturesque stretch of San Antonio's downtown is technically a city park but is better recognized as a dining and entertainment haven. Built a full story below street level, it offers three miles of stone pathways that line both banks of the San Antonio River. Some areas are peaceful and quiet while others are noisy and fun with clusters of restaurants, bars, hotels, and even strolling mariachi bands. The area is also pleasant when viewed from river taxis and charter boats, some of which serve dinner.
Tower of the Americas

600 HemisFair Plaza WaySan Antonio TX 78205 210-223-3101
Description:
DOWNTOWN. Constructed as the centerpiece of the 1968 HemisFair, this lofty structure rises 750 feet to the tip of its antenna. The futuristic tower features both an observation deck that's surrounded by an exterior walkway and a revolving restaurant that provides gorgeous views and tasty food. You'll also find a cafe on the ground floor, banquet space on the observation deck, and a 4-D theater ride that proudly introduces folks to the Lone Star State. At the tower's base, waterfalls and ponds add a note of serenity.
